Prime Duo privacy policy

Updated September 13, 2026 · Version 1.0.1

Data processed

Prime Duo transiently inspects the normal playback response on primevideo.com to extract its subtitle list. Subtitle language names and file URLs, selected subtitle text, the current content page path, player title, playback time and panel choices are processed in tab memory. These data are used only to display selected subtitles together and stop stale subtitles when content changes. Your preferred browser language is read locally to choose the interface language.

Connections and sharing

Selected subtitle files are requested from the HTTPS URLs provided by Prime Video. Amazon or the serving content delivery provider receives the IP address and ordinary network information required for that connection. These file requests omit credentials and do not send a page referrer. No subtitles, viewing information or panel choices are sent to the extension developer. There is no analytics, advertising, remote error reporting or external translation service. Prime Video's own processing is governed by its separate privacy policy.

Retention and controls

The extension does not persist data to disk or cloud storage. Refreshing or closing the page clears the extension's tab memory. Stopping subtitles clears loaded cues; the available track list may remain in the tab for restarting. The browser's own network cache is governed by browser settings. You can disable or remove the extension in Chrome's extension settings.

Access scope

The extension runs only on primevideo.com and www.primevideo.com. It has no feature for collecting passwords, payment information or cookies. Non-subtitle fields in playback responses are not retained. It does not request the browser history API, access to other sites or local files.

Limited use

Data is used only for the subtitle feature. It is not sold, used for advertising or credit decisions, or monitored by the developer. Prime Duo is designed to handle data consistently with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Contact

For support and privacy questions, use the developer contact channel shown on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing. Remove account names, private information and temporary subtitle URLs from screenshots before sending a support report.
